Agency partners

Help your agency become more valuable to its best clients.

Your clients already trust you. But the questions they increasingly ask do not always fit neatly into brand, PR, web, SEO, paid media or CRM. This Is Better provides senior ecommerce growth strategy behind the scenes, helping you diagnose the wider problem, create clarity and decide what should happen next.

Your client. Your relationship. Our thinking.

01 — The problem

Great agencies still get boxed into their discipline.

Each discipline answers well within its own boundary. The commercial question sits between them — and it rarely belongs to anyone.

  • Brand agencyOwns brand.
  • Web / Shopify agencyOwns the platform.
  • PR agencyOwns reputation.
  • SEO / PPC agencyOwns acquisition.
  • CRM agencyOwns retention.

But the client asks

“Where should we actually invest next?”

That is the gap we fill.

02 — What we do

The strategic layer behind the relationship.

We diagnose across the complete growth system rather than protecting a channel-specific answer. Performance is set by the weakest stage, so that is where the next investment usually belongs.

01

Demand

Is there enough qualified demand to grow into?

02

Discovery

Can that demand find and trust you?

03

Acquisition

Are you buying customers at a defensible cost?

04

Conversion

Does the experience convert intent into orders?

05

Retention

Do those customers come back at a better margin?

06

Measurement

Can you tell what is actually working?

07

Capability

Can the team and stack execute the plan?

03 — Partner offers

Three ways to bring senior growth strategy in

01

White-label Growth Diagnostic

Our flagship Growth Diagnostic delivered behind your agency brand, co-branded, or as an introduced specialist. We examine the complete ecommerce growth system, identify constraints and create a prioritised roadmap.

Outputs

  • Growth System Scorecard
  • Constraint Map
  • Opportunity Stack
  • Stop / Fix / Scale / Test
  • 90-Day Plan
  • Leadership Readout

Priced partner-by-partner. Built to leave room for agency margin where the agency owns the client relationship.

02

Embedded Strategy Partner

Bring senior ecommerce strategy into selected client relationships without hiring it permanently. We join key meetings, challenge priorities, interpret performance, align specialists and help shape the next phase of growth.

Often used for

  • Major retained clients
  • New senior stakeholders
  • Post-replatform periods
  • Stalled growth
  • Complex multi-agency relationships

Scoped per client relationship, with an agreed cadence and visibility model.

03

Client Growth Council

A structured quarterly strategic review for your highest-value clients. What changed? What is working? Where is growth constrained? What should stop, scale or be tested next?

Each quarter

  • What changed in the market and the numbers
  • What is working and worth scaling
  • Where growth is currently constrained
  • Stop / scale / test decisions for the next quarter

A recurring strategic product that gives your agency a reason to hold a senior commercial conversation every quarter.

04 — How partnership can look

You choose the visibility

Invisible / white-label

We operate fully behind your brand. The client sees your agency leading the thinking.

Co-branded

Joint strategic delivery where both brands are visible and the roles are clear.

Introduced specialist

You remain lead agency; we join transparently as ecommerce growth specialists.

05 — Working together

How a white-label or embedded engagement actually runs.

The same sequence applies whether we are invisible behind your brand or embedded alongside you. You always see findings before your client does.

  1. 01

    Week 0

    Partner alignment

A short call with the agency lead to agree the client situation, the visibility model (white-label, co-branded or introduced), commercial terms and how findings will be reviewed before they reach the client.

  2. 02

    Week 1

    Information handover

You share what you already hold. We tell you quickly if anything is missing rather than sending a long questionnaire. No client contact is needed at this stage unless you want it.

  3. 03

    Weeks 1–3

    Diagnosis across the growth system

We review demand, discovery, acquisition, conversion, retention, measurement and capability, then test where performance is actually constrained rather than where activity is easiest to add.

  4. 04

    Week 3

    Agency review

You see the findings first. We agree what is presented, what sits inside your capabilities, what needs specialist execution and how the recommendation is framed in your voice.

  5. 05

    Week 4

    Client readout

Delivered behind your brand, jointly, or as an introduced specialist. You keep client leadership throughout; we support the commercial reasoning.

  6. 06

    Ongoing

    Embedded continuation (optional)

Where the relationship benefits from ongoing senior input, we move to an agreed cadence — priority reviews, specialist alignment and quarterly re-diagnosis.

What we ask you to share

Whatever you already hold is usually enough to begin. We flag gaps rather than block on them.

  • Analytics access or exports (sessions, revenue, conversion by channel and device)
  • Ecommerce platform and, where available, product/category performance
  • Paid media accounts or reporting, at whatever level you can share
  • Email/CRM and lifecycle performance if a CRM partner is involved
  • Current scope of work and any active roadmap or test plan
  • Commercial context: margin pressure, AOV, repeat behaviour, targets
  • Who the stakeholders are and what they believe the problem is

What you receive

Delivered in your brand where the engagement is white-label.

  • Growth System Scorecard across the seven stages
  • Constraint Map showing where growth is actually limited
  • Opportunity Stack, prioritised commercially rather than by channel
  • Stop / Fix / Scale / Test decision set
  • 90-day plan and 12-month direction
  • Leadership readout deck, in your brand where required
  • A private agency note: where the work maps back to your capabilities

06 — Sample timeline

The same milestones, three levels of visibility.

Handover and delivery follow one sequence. What changes between modes is who the client sees at each point.

01

Week 0

Partner alignment

Mode, scope and terms agreed.

02

Week 1

Handover

Access and context shared by the agency.

03

Weeks 1–3

Diagnosis

Review across the seven growth stages.

04

Week 3

Agency review

Findings reviewed with you first.

05

Week 4

Client readout

Recommendations presented.

06

Ongoing

Continuation

Optional embedded cadence.

07 — How partners typically use us

The engagement patterns we are built for.

Most partner conversations start in one of a handful of situations. Each one has a natural visibility mode attached to it.

01

A single client where the conversation has outgrown the scope

The most common starting point. One valued client is asking commercial questions that sit outside the discipline the agency was hired for. We run a Growth Diagnostic behind the agency and hand back a prioritised view of where growth is actually constrained.

Usually white-label

02

A pitch or renewal that needs a wider strategic answer

The agency wants to show it can lead the whole growth conversation, not just its channel. We help shape the thinking and the commercial reasoning behind the recommendation; the agency owns the pitch and the relationship.

White-label or co-branded

03

A client relationship that has stalled

Activity continues, results have plateaued and nobody owns the question of what to change. An outside diagnosis resets the priorities and gives the agency a defensible reason to redirect effort.

Any mode

04

Senior capability inside a multi-agency setup

Several specialists, no single view. We provide the connective strategic layer across disciplines and help the lead agency hold a coherent commercial position.

Usually introduced

05

Ongoing strategic support on a retained account

Where a relationship benefits from continuous senior input, we join an agreed cadence — priority reviews, interpreting performance and quarterly re-diagnosis — without the agency carrying permanent headcount.

Embedded

06

A quarterly strategic review the agency can own

A structured Client Growth Council gives the agency a recurring reason to hold a senior commercial conversation rather than a reporting call.

Co-branded or white-label

These are the patterns we design for and how each engagement is structured. They describe our model rather than claimed outcomes.

09 — Why an agency would use us

Protect and deepen valuable relationships

Stay in the conversation when it becomes commercial rather than channel-specific.

Expand strategic relevance without bloating payroll

Senior growth capability available per engagement, not per salary.

Create better briefs and follow-on work

Commercially justified next steps, evidenced rather than argued.

Give senior clients a joined-up answer

One view across disciplines instead of five partial ones.

10 — How this creates value for you

The diagnostic often points back to your own capabilities.

A Growth Diagnostic ends in a prioritised, evidenced set of decisions. Where those decisions sit inside your capabilities, the work is yours to scope and deliver — with a commercial case behind it rather than a pitch.

  • CRO / UX opportunityWeb, design or conversion work
  • Brand or demand problemBranding and PR opportunity
  • Organic discovery gapSEO and content work
  • Paid acquisition inefficiencyPerformance media work
  • CRM / retention gapLifecycle and CRM work
  • Technical or platform constraintDevelopment work

11 — Partner protection

Built to protect the relationship, not compete with it.

  • No direct solicitation of your client.
  • No behind-the-scenes pitching.
  • Existing scopes respected.
  • You choose the delivery model and visibility.
  • Confidentiality and non-solicitation available contractually.
  • Findings can be reviewed with the agency before the client readout where appropriate.

12 — Who it is for

Agencies with strong relationships and bigger questions

Often a good fit: roughly 10–75 people, strong client relationships, premium clients materially larger than the agency, and a desire to deepen strategic value without hiring a full senior growth team.

  • Independent branding agencies
  • Shopify and web development agencies
  • PR and communications firms
  • SEO, PPC and performance agencies
  • CRM and lifecycle agencies
  • Creative agencies

13 — Introducing the diagnostic to your client

You've asked us where the next stage of ecommerce growth should come from. Rather than answer that only through the discipline we manage, we've brought in our strategic growth partner to look across the complete picture — acquisition, conversion, retention, measurement and internal capability — and identify where the biggest opportunity actually sits.

A sample introduction — adapt it to your own voice

14 — Partner FAQ

What agencies usually ask before we start.

Will you pitch work directly to our client?

No. We do not solicit your clients or pitch additional services behind your back. We work through you and for the relationship you already own. Non-solicitation and confidentiality can be formalised in our agreement if you need it.

How confidential is the work you do together?

All client data, findings and conversations are treated as confidential. We can sign mutual NDAs and structure engagement terms so your client information stays protected at every stage.

Can you work completely behind our brand?

Yes. We can deliver invisibly as a white-label extension of your team, co-branded as a joint specialist partner, or openly introduced as ecommerce growth specialists. You choose the visibility model that protects the relationship.

How do you decide which work gets recommended?

We diagnose across the full ecommerce growth system — demand, discovery, acquisition, conversion, retention, measurement and capability — and prioritise by the biggest constraint on profitable growth. The answer is rarely more traffic; it is whatever is actually limiting performance right now.

What if the diagnostic points to work we do not deliver?

That is expected, and it is also an opportunity. Where recommendations sit inside your capabilities, the work is yours to scope and deliver with a stronger commercial case. Where specialist execution is needed, we can support or help you choose the right partner — always with you retaining client leadership.

How are partner engagements priced?

Each partner relationship is priced individually to leave room for agency margin where you own the client relationship. We agree scope, cadence and visibility before any client work begins — so there are no hidden costs or surprise add-ons.

Add senior growth capability without adding permanent headcount.

If you have one or two client relationships where the conversation has become bigger than your current scope, that is usually the right place to start.
